Charging an Optima Yellowtop, help plz..
Hey guys, i have an optima yellowtop which i have had for about 2-3 years now. I hadn't driven my car in 3 weeks and i found the battery to be completely dead (im suspecting it was a current draw from the amp, but i sold the amp now). Anyways, I put it on a 2amp trickle charger and it was charging for almost 48 hours and the "Charged" light on the charger still hadn't come on yet..... im assuming the battery is dead eh? I took it off the charger since 48 hours seems more than enough time to fully charge.
Thanks for any help.

Did the car start after you trickled charged it?
I had my battery drain after 3 weeks too. It was at my army base when I went away to school. I just got a jump and didnt have another problem from then till I left for Iraq.
If it still isnt starting Id say you need to get the battery tested.

well it will start but im not sure as to the batteries condition. Its not good to let an alternator charge a battery that is low because it can overload it from working too hard... and then ALTERNATOR DEATH!!!!!!!!!!! lol..
