Default Navigation Question

Hello everyone I am new to this site and I had a question about my 350z. I have a 04 350z Touring package and was wondering if my navigation system would still work if I swapped out my factory stereo with a 6-inch in dash screen. My navi is located in the compartment above the factory stereo and I don't think it has anything to do with my radio. I was wondering if it is possible to switch out your stock radio and still have the navigation system working properly. I know that I will lose my bose system switching cd players but the bose system isn't loud enough for me anyway. Please respond with helpful information!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

P.S. If you have done this can you post a pic, I would love to see how the 2 screens will look.

im pretty sure its possible, the only thing is i dont think you will have sound from the voice guidance coming through your speakers anymore.

I went to Bestbuy today and was planning on getting a new HU along with a new sub and amp. They told me there that it all works off the same computer, so it would basically render the stock nav useless. Idk though some of the guys there seemed pretty clueless.

My stock Bose was upgraded to a Kenwood DDX-712, and my nav works just fine. Including voice guidance. So it's certainly possible, and if anyone tells you otherwise, they don't know what they're doing.

Sorry for the delay here, I completely forgot about this.

I had a local friend of mine do it.
