Default Alarm Auto arm?

I think its been post but can't seem to find it, but how do you see the stock alarm to auto arm when parked? I keep worrying that I'll forget to press the lock button to arm the alarm. My old car used to auto arm itself after 30sec or so. The only thing I found was how to set it so the light flash or horn beep, etc.. nothing on auto arm.

I do not believe that there is an auto arm feature on the factory alarm. It will rearm automatically if you disarm the system, but do not open any door or the hatch within 30 seconds...

Huh? When I said auto arm I meant that if you go out of your car and forgot to press the lock button on the remote that it should lock and arm itself. I parked it at home and waited till see when it will lock itself, but it never did.

Like I said, the Z factory alarm does not have an auto arm feature. The system arms from the remote control only.

I've noticed that it does have some sort of auto arm. When I first got my car it would occassionaly lock the doors and arm itself if I got out and didn't lock the doors or unlocked the doors and didn't get in the car within a certain amount of time. However, I've never been able to get it to work consistently. I wonder what the deal is.

I just check the manual and the service CD-ROM.
There is NO auto arm option on the factory alarm.

If you locked the doors and armed the system by pushing the lock button on the remote, and then come back to the car and press the unlock button to unlock the doors and disarm the system; if you do not open any door or the rear hatch within 30 seconds, the system will THEN rearm and relock the doors. This is the ONLY auto REARM that the factory system will do...it will not auto arm.
