Default Question on installing components..

Just need some clarification before I install my components and amp this weekend. I bought like 25' of speaker wire so hopefully im good.

When installing components, do they only play off of the amplifier? Im asking this, because im sort of confused on the wiring.

It goes amp - crossover - midrange + tweeter?

By doing this, that would mean the components are only played off the amp, and everything is ran though the amp.

I just dont know what happens to the stock speaker wires? Meaning, does the stock harness just get taped up? Or, do I splice the wires, run them to the speakers and then run new speaker wires to the crossovers from the midrange?

I just need some help with clarifying. Thanks.

I wont be doing that, if I find I need to, ill have a shop do it. I just need clarification on some things. When swapping the front midranges, where do the stock speaker wires with the grey clip go to? Do they go to the new speaker?
Heres what I know: I run speaker wire from the amp, to the crossover. Then, from the crossover to the mid range, and crossover to tweeter. Now, with that said, where does the stock speaker wiring (WITH THE GREY CLIP THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE OLD SPEAKER) go to? Does it go to the new midranges, along with the wiring from the crossover?

Input Woofer Main Twtr Image Twtr
+ - + - + - + -

Amplifier to Input
Woofer on X over to midrange
Main Twtr on X over to tweeter

What happens to the stock speaker harness that is connected to the stock speakers via a grey clip that is removed when installing new speakers?????

If I didnt have an amp, then I would just splice into the stock wires and connect them to the Input on the X over, but obviously im using an amp, and dont know where the stock speaker wires go.

Ahh yeah... running wires to the doors is fun.
My knuckles/fingers looked like an emo's.

The wiring will go...

Headunit ---RCA cables--> Amplifier(s)

Amplifier(s) ---> Component crossover(s) ---> Midbass and tweeter.

Ok Lazarus, ive got that down. Now, the answer to this question is what I have been seeking: What is the stock speaker wire(s) connected to when installing components? If I am running all new speaker wire through the diagram u just showed, where does the stock speaker wire come into play? Where is it connected? Is it taped off??

Personally I wouldn't run components on stock wiring but that's just me.

If you put the woofer in the door, you will have to use the stock wiring or run your own wiring to get it to the crossover.

Yup, just tape off the wires in the door and at the wiring harness if you have an aftermarket HU and you should be fine.

What do you mean by this? Would I need to break the solder on the front left and front right speakers, where the vehicle harness and HU harness meet?
