How do you improve Radio Reception (Aftermarket HU)?
I installed an Alpine IDA-x100 a few months back, tried connecting to factory antennae but somehow it didn't work so yesterday I unplugged it and just stuck a normal copper wire and voila, it worked. The signal strength is good but not great (still a little fuzzy).
I stuck the wire inside the dash behind the HU. Is there any way I can boost radio reception? I know the Z's antennae is powered with an amp but I can't get it to work :/
Help?

make sure you hookup the power antenna wire on your aftermarket deck to the power antenna lead of your wire adapter harness. apparently the 350z uses an antenna amplifier or something and the power antenna wire supplies the power for that. search this audio forum for more info.
