Default Headunit for iPhone 3G

I've been searching for a bit now and I can't figure out the exactly what I need, so I'll ask:

I have '06 non-bose non-navi. I just want to put in a new head unit for now (maybe replace the front speakers at a later point), but I don't need XM or anything.
I just want to play my iPhone 3G music (I don't need steering wheel controls, and I want to use the actual iphone to control the music). The 3G won't charge with a lot of devices too, so I need one that is known to be compatible.

To sum up, iPhone 3G music on a good sounding simple head unit.

Can I get a recommendation? Something that goes with the black interior and orange dash lighting would be perfect..

Go with a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD. They can be had for under $300 now, match the interior orange lighting perfectly, use a double din/touchscreen setup, and work awesome with the iPhone 3G.

You want to take a look at the new Alpine range - all the new 09 head units are fully iPhone 3g Compatible

i.e. iDA-305, CDA-105Ri etc

The double-DIN ones (ex. the Pioneer AVN4000 one) seem a bit overkill.. I kinda want the extra slot from putting in a single DIN unit.

It seems most of the systems that Pioneer and Alpine sell don't have changing colors like the AVN4000 though... I just want one that turns amber.

Any other recommendations?

EDIT: I love the Alpine iDA-X305... when is it coming out? I've been reading and it seems sometime in March, which is bad since I'm extremely impatient.

What does your budget look like? I can help you a little better if I know how much you are looking to spend.

I'm not sure... somewhere in the $200-$350 range would be nice. Again, I only need iPhone 3G compatibility.. I don't need HD radio or XM or anything else. No dvd player. Having bluetooth handsfree at some point (BT-ready or included) would be a plus too.

I should check - there will be no interference from my iPhone with these setups correct?
