Default Sub RMS rating question..

I have an Alpine MRV-F345 amp, and will be bridging the 3rd and 4th channels to get 300w RMS to my sub. I was just about to order the JL 10W1v2 sub, but I read on JL's site that running the sub at 300w is against warranty.
I don't really understand how an amp works - do I have to be running at maximum gain to run the sub at 300w? Because I don't want to run the sub loud at all...

no, gain is not a volume ****

you set gains according to the resistance of the speaker

off of the jl website "Power Handling (continuous): 300W"

this will be your new best friend

I saw that, but I also noticed the meter at the bottom of the pdf, that says driving the sub with more than ~250w RMS puts it out of warranty. Am I understanding something wrong, or do I need to get a more powerful sub to handle the 300w RMS from the amp?
