Impedance/Ohms (amp to sub)
Im going with a Diamond Audio D3 amplifier. At 1 ohm, its a 600 watt amplifier. Im looking at the Diamond Audio D6 10" sub to pair it with. But, the sub is rated at 500 watts at 4 ohms. Does this matter? Or can I just wire the sub for 1 ohm?
the d3 amps power rating is
RMS Power @ 1 Ohm: 600 Watts x 1
RMS Power @ 2 Ohm: 400 Watts x 1
RMS Power @ 4 Ohm: 250 Watts x 1
and the sub is Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils
so i would wire the 2 voice coils down to a 2 ohm load and run 400 to it and all will be well
