GPS
Sup guys, just got a 04 stuck Z, base mode, whats the best option to put a gps on it? remove the stock radio and buying a gps console with built in music player, or try to find the stock gps that goes on top of the radio?
Define "best".
Most expensive is how most people define best now but some would want the best GPS interface/performance or some would want the best value. Those are three different GPS systems.

I got the 06 base and I just put in a 7" Eclipse 6620 GPS/Stereo unit in place of the factory unit. Must say, you should keep it to 7" if you want to maintain a stock look on the interior if that is what your going for.
- Do you want a "built-in" solution or are you looking for something that is transportable?
- Do you want touch-screen control?
- What is your budget?

EDIT
I came back to your thread and notice that you started a thread, but choose not to respond on your own thread. Maybe you are searching right now? …That’s a good thing if in fact you are doing this.
Anyway… here is more information: Paul350Z created one of the best threads on my350z.com “EVAH.” His post describes fitting a monitor into the upper/forward cubby space in the 2003-2005 Nissan 350Z. His thread…

… should be required reading for anyone asking about mounting LCD screens in a Z car. Read this thread. It will answer at least your initial question.

I hard wired my Nuvi into the cubby in the dash. I like being able to cover it up without taking it down. It turns on and off with the car and looks pretty clean without any wires showing.
^^ Inexpensive “On top of the radio” (upper forward cubby mount for LCD screen) GPS Solutions

The Pioneer AVIC-F700BT is a DD device that goes into the lower DD slot in the Z.
The solutions I mention (that you asked about) are a LCD screen (placed in the upper/forward cubby) with a remote GPS box.
