Default 06 Bose headunit will work in 03?

Hi guys, I am having the driver side speakers cut out problem, and I am just wondering if the problem will be solved if I just replace the headunits. I came across with an 06 Bose headunit, I just wondering if its a plug and play, or I am SOL just get a new aftermarket headunit?
Thank you !

Default a suggestion

best buy will hook up anything you bring them... a stock system into another car they will hook you up... the thing is they are pricey for installations but if ANY problems happen to your car that is related to the way its hooked up they will pay for all repairs and fix your system back up... GARANTEED... i had an is300 ive had done at crazy places cuz they were cheap... but best buy has always came out clean they always use top of the line wires... but i think thats the best thing to do if theres anydoubt on what you think the outcome could be.... but i mean if your trying to save money and do it yourself... i think it would work because i have buddies that install systems and the bose system should be able to handle the same wires. if you take out the old system and the speakers fit the same way then your alright..

I'm assuming your car has the Bose "upgrade." The speaker cut-out you describe is a common problem (as you mention). You don't need to to replace the H/U to fix this.

If you do elect to replace the H/U, any double-din device fits the space, including OEM Bose units from newer Z's.

Naw... try to stay away from doing a audio set up for now, I know once I order a double din, I will say I may as well just get the whole system done. Mod bugs FAIL!

So whats the solution to fix the cut out problem?

The 06 headunit will not fit in the 03 Z. In 06, nissan changed the dash opening. The 06's headunit corners are more rounded than the previous years.

I also believe the connections are different.
