Crutchfield has the alpine cda-9884 and a set of sps-600 speakers on special right now. The head unit has been discontinued, so they are probably just throwing in a set of speakers to try and get rid of them. i am not a hardcore sound guy or anything, i would just like to be able to use my ipod in the car and have better sound than stock. the speakers say they don't fit, but i am wondering if anybody has installed them with spacers or anything, and gotten them to fit. the alpine head unit looks like it will be adequate for what i "need", i just don't want to buy it to get the "free" speakers to find out they don't fit.

another question, if i get this set up, i have an old jl 10wo4 and ppi pc225 sitting around i would like to throw in the z, but i don't want to take up trunk space. does anybody make boxes that fit behind the drivers seat, or would i need to have that custom made? i have seen the zenclosures, and that would be an option, but i'd rather save all my trunk space seeing as we have so little of it already.
