Speaker Question... Kind of an intresting idea
Ok, So i am going through and upgrading all the crap speakers in my Z, So the origional idea is to do components up front (Infinity 60.9CS) and the 2 way 62.9i for the rear... However due to not wanting to deal with cutting holes and mounting the crossover how does this sound
3 Way infinity 63.9i Front PLUS Stock tweeters to spit out a little sound for a full sound and the same 2 way 62.9i Rears... Is it worth the extra 60 bucks PLUS the mounting hassle to have the tweeters seperate from the mid-woofer?
Thanks,
Eric Wolf
BTW: Are the BOSE tweeters any better than the stockers?

How would you get efficient sound to the tweets? This will sound like **** even if you managed to frankenstein it together. just go with the speakers in the door and you'll notice huge improvement anyway.
how about this, just get nicer front 3 way comps and forget the rears?
in a 2 seater you WILL NOT be able to tell they are gone. if you cut your fronts and listen to the actual output of the rears... its a joke. rear fill is for 4 seaters and even then i dont care if its crystal clear in the back of the car

Focus on the front stage and do not use the rears. If you go with a 3-way (active I assume) then you've got that part of the plan down. In the Z you could even slap in some 2-way coax and call it a day (assuming they're good ones). It all depends on what you're looking for, but for simplicity go with a 2-way.
