Mike,
Thanks for the bracket you sent out to me last week. I received it in the mail by the time I came back from vacation. I had a bit of trouble getting things lined up properly, until I reviewed some of the privious posts and other threads and saw that the mirror post almost had to be horizontal and the bracket be near the windshield in order for everything to install correctly.
I also had some vibration issues, and bent the lip of the tab from the 'suction cup' bracket a lit to make the detector a bit more firm when it is slid into place. There is still some virbrations (depending on the road), but all in all things are good. It is a very clean looking install.
The next issue was getting power to X50. I went in today and got a reputable audio company (Magnolia Hi-Fi Audio/Video in Seattle area) do the hardwire install for me. It only cost $25 and the line comes down through the mirror wire channel and looks quite good. The only thing I was thinking I still need to do is find a way to move the wire up out of sight when the detector in not mounted. I was thinking a very slight bit of velcro, as you would only need a couple of strands to hold the wire out of the way.
The photo a few posts previous to this one (with the V1) looks like you had a nylon tie-strip at the bottom. What other methods have you seen / heard of for getting the line out of the way when not plugged in?
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for the great product at a fair price. This is how a detector should be installed. Anyone on the fence regarding whether or not this is something they want to do should definately do it, along with having it hardwired into the car.
By the way, while I was at the audio shop I also had them install an I-pod adapter to connect to sat/navigation connector on stock stereo system. They routed the end connector to come through the coin holder. Now I can access 70 CD's (so far) while driving along with nice clean looking top of the line radar detector. Ready for the highway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just ordered mine and forgot to tell Mike what year Z I had. I was lucky I sent him my number with my order and not even a minute after I sent him funds through Payapal Mike callled me. I can't wait to get my mount in the mail.
