not really.. Typically anything below 60Hz a 6.5" Woofer wont play very well if at all... and anything about 20k you probably wont be able to hear, or care to hear.

What about these (added to your list) as well.

I often saw 2 out of these 3 options as the "debate" for people. The responses were usually mixed which meant to me they were all the same, being cheap I went with the CDT's.

Again, The Momo's would get my money given the $140 price. I'd rather fight to get them fit (1" spacers in my room and I don't mind having to do some minor tweaking) than spend a lot of extra money to get the newer versions (assuming I get them fit fine in the end).
i never heard CDT's before so i can't really say yes or no.. i do however don't like MB Quartz Components .. the tweeters are piercing and the woofers are muddy

The more I think about it, I may just save up for a set of Polk SR6500. I see them online for $499 which is A LOT more than I originally wanted to spend but I think it may be worth it in the long run. Any thoughts?

Pretty sure I no what most people will say but pick one:

Polk SR6500 - $499.99

Hertz MLK165 - $555

Is that a good deal for the Hertz, always thought they were more expensive.

I was able to talk of MLK165 place down to $500 shipped. I am guessing the JL 300/2v2 I wanted wouldn't be quite enough power anymore. What do you guys think of the Fosgate T600-2. (200w rms x 2 @ 4ohms). MLK165 are 150w rms but I have read of MULTIPLE people putting 450w x 2 to them and telling how they could take more.

I have 150w going to my SR6500's and they sound perfect, to me at least. I am sure they could take more, but they are satisfied with the 150.

Becoming an obsession huh? Where are you going to install these? Are you going to buy some kick or door pods?

Just out of curiosity, what are your goals in the upgrade.

You started in a lower price range and suddenly increased.

If I bumped up I was looking at Mmats 641 (I think) 3 way components, or similar from CDT or Rainbow.

I'm impressed by the quality of the CDT speakers, they remind me a lot of the Memphis M-class speakers I had (in terms of build). That said, I need to paint the tweeter mounting surround black so it doesn't stick out so bad when I mount it to my sail panels.

My goal is to have an audio system that will leave me impressed for the lifetime of my vehicle. I know like a lot of things in life your excited to get something, then you get it and after a week its like ehh its was nice for a week. I still love from car after having it for about 6 months and I just don't want to put in a new audio system and then look back and say I wish I had done this or that.

I haven't looked into door pods at all and for one don't even really know the pros/cons or them so if someone would be so nice to educate me some on them I'd apprieciate it. Probably end up googling it after I post this anyways.

BTW this has come a total obsession.

I was totally set of HSK165's until the place I was going to purchase it decided to raise the price they promised me. So I have been pretty much looking at the following

Polk SR6500 $499
Hertz MLK165 $500
Hybrid Clarus C61-2 $399

The place I am now planning on getting everything installed highly recommended the Hybrid (they sell them) The guy told me in his opinion they were better than any of the above speakers I listed. A bit bias maybe lol who knows.

I'm in the market for a component set up and I am interested in the Momo's. I am considering picking these up since they should fit it relatively easy compared to the $140 (oversized) version mentioned in this thread:http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2571

Also, can you recommend an amp for these speakers that won't break the bank? I was thinking of this one: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=6083

Thanks!

Both silver and white are available (from that link).

As far as amps, I'm going to be running a bridged Elemental Designs nine.4 (to two channels), $135 shipped http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...products_id=46 .

They make good products and have pretty awesome prices for their amps.

Thanks, how difficult will it be to fit those speakers in the door? I have a fairly reputable shop doing the install and I'm sure they can manage but I don't want them to ring me for more $$$ for any fabrication.

Really appreciate your advice and plan to grab this set up shortly.

No idea, but I'm sure you'll need spacers of some sort. I know the speakers I've got might take a little effort to fit.
