Need advice
I dont know much about stereos and speakers and need your advice. I noticed that the rear speakers do not do too much of job in the 350z. I have found 6.5" Kicker CompVT 08CVT654 subwoofers(shallow mount-less than 3"). I do not need too much of a punch but i do want to add some to my sound system. Is putting subwoofers in the rear speaker location a bad idea? Sorry if this had been mentioned before! Thanks in advance!
^^ Interesting idea… I’m not sure if anyone here has done this.
I cannot tell you for sure if it fits in the Z’s rear speaker space, but I think it will. Even if it does fit, it would be difficult (probably impossible if you follow Kicker’s specs for this speaker) to create a sealed enclosure here. That means you have a free-air SubW, which won’t provide as good sound. But, even this is better than no SubW at all.

I went ahead and ordered two of those subwoofers.I will try to install them with the help of friends. Here are the specs:
6.5" 4-ohm subwoofer
injection-molded polypropylene woofer cone with ribbed Santoprene surround
works in free-air applications
power handling: 50-150 watts RMS (300 watts peak power)
frequency response: 30-350 Hz
sensitivity: 84.6 dB
top-mount depth: 2-7/8"
sealed box volume: 0.2-3.0 cubic feet
Now I need to buy an amp.
Any feedback from any member on what amp to use to power 2 of those subwoofers is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
