you might have to change the video settings...have you gotten the music videos to play off a cd/dvd disc yet? if so, what settings did you use?

Are you using an iPod cable from Pioneer or going through the built in USB port?

I can't get one of the harnesses out of the back of the radio. Any suggestions?

Almost there, but I'm having an issue with the toggle switch. I've connected one end to the parking brake wire from the new head unit and the other to a ground in the car but I can't get the switch to work. Am I missing something?

USB and AUX is on the back of the 4100.

I would call my install 50/50 success/fail. Everything works great but my damn toggle switch. I put everything back together but left the switch out in the open and will try a different switch or a relay if that doesn't work.

I am having this problem also. If i switch to aux1 it shows the video but it is paused, and there is no way for me to start it.

Finally I got the unit installed today. Spent way too much time on the install last night thinking I was just screwing up the wiring for the bypass relay. But figured out in about 5 minutes today with a new relay that the one I was having problems with just didn't work.

The relay used is a 30amp 12v spt automotive relay with 4 posts labeled 30, 85, 86, 87. I ended up with the relay wired a little differently than what I have seen online.

85&87 - ground
86 - remote turn on (solid blue from pioneer harness)
30 - parking brake wire (green from pioneer harness)

thanks Chi for going back and forth with me through PM.

I got the switch working the next morning. I needed to ground it to the same point I grounded the radio.

The toggle switch doesn't bother me. If I'm riding with my wife then I'll flip the switch but otherwise I don't need it so I don't bother to flip it.

The only problem I have is the radio reception is infinitely worse than stock, but other than that I give it a thumbs up.

Hi guys,

i'm pretty new to this forum but I just want to tell you I installed this AVH-P4100 on my 2004 350z and its awesome.

here's a link to my youtube demo:

AVH-P4100DVD on youtube

There's some distortion due to bad Camera ( Casio Exilim ). But, go for it, its a great unit. I used to have the Bose 6 disc.

Also, I had some great help from another thread, here, installing bypass switch. It's easy to setup and use.

Thanks for the help.

Got a p5100dvd instaled with no problem. Now backing up w/oston Accustics sl60, 65 and G110 for sub. Poer amp is Alpine PDX-5. Good sounds. You need to lace door panels anc rear strut w/accoustic packing to cut soud extra car harmonics.

I swear I got a 12 hour clock, I haven't paid that much attention to it but right now its 10:57 PM and that's what it says, and in 12 hours it will say the same thing.

I can't get the video to play though from an iPod, has anyone? I know you have to turn the h/u off then go into the menu and Aux1 to "iPod" instead of Video for it to work, but it doesn't play for me. I have an 30GB iPod Video 5G and have the video setting correct. TV Out is on and its set to NTSC.

I think I have everything right but I still can't get it to work. :/
