Default Replacement HU with Factory NAV

Hello

Was wondering if someone can provide some info... I looked through the forums but wasn't too sure and needed some carification.

I have a 04 Z with a factory NAV. Can i just replace the HU with a double din unit ( i don't really care about the voice on the factory NAV, since i am considering upgrading to probably a pioneer HU with factory NAV. If i just replace the HU, will the factory NAV still work, i know that i will lose the voice from the NAV. Please help. Thanks.

John
