I have a little problem with my avic Z1 I bought it for my 04 hatch 350z off ebay then ordered all the wiring and the double din install kit from crutchfield.

What’s going on is the face wont flip down so I can put a cd or dvd into it. it’s almost as if it’s getting stuck. Now I can just take the whole thing apart and dremel the edges of the plate so it WILL flip down or I didn’t do something correct during installation. If someone knows what the problem may be I’d greatly appreciate it.

Also I had the bose system without the navigation and it seemed a hell of a lot louder before I put the avix z1 in there? it’s almost as if when I’m driving 60+ with the windows down you can’t hear ****. Should I just hook up an amp to it or again did I wire something incorrectly.

I kind of had the same problem. What I did to see if my flip down was hitting or not working was to have the HU by itself and plug in and try using it. If it flips and works then it is hitting some thing, if is does not wiring is messed up or bad unit. With the sound try play around with the EQ
