Default ....and I thought I was the exception to the subwoofer dilemma

So I got the roadster, I knew that I was risking it, but I thought that if I could seal the area where the stock subwoofer used to be with dynamat, it would sound good. Furthermore, I also used window replacement tape to seal the subwoofer and the the subwoofer bracket. And yes, I got rid of the vibration......BUT IT SOUNDS DIRTY!!

The way it hits is just kinda "poppy"? It's not tight like it should be. The sub is a RF P3 10".

So for you guys who are successful with this, please give me an alternative. I've done my research. I have seen the nazar box but $300+ is too much money for me. I have to keep the sub in the stock location.

Anyone know of anything else I could do? I know some people have taken a different route besides the $300+ box, please share.

dynamat and window tape arent going to provide you with a solid enclosure and thats why it sounds like $hit. your best option would be to fiberglass the entire space and cut a baffle to mount the sub to. your sub needs an air tight or ported (which you dont have space for) enclosure to sound good. your other option would be to use a sub that you can mount free air aka does not need an enclosure.

Nice. Yes I have heard of fiberglassing the space. I don't know how that though, is there a tutorial I can follow? Hopefully its a DIY type of deal I'd hate to have to pay someone to do that.

Any other opinions? Alternatives?

Yessir 300 is a little out of budget for a box. I'd rather spend less and do it myself. I just need some ideas from those who have been through this. Anyone fiberglass the inside of the sub cavity yet?

I searched......I found a DIY for a sub box on the coupe, in the back of the car. Does anyone have a DIY for placing the sub in the stock sub location on a roadster? Anyone please chime in, I'm just waiting on a good response and I'm gonna get on it.
