Default Does FM mod reduce FM radio reception quality?

Ever since I got my music keg and kenwood FM modulator put in my radio stations don't come in as clearly as they did previously and there is at least one station that doesn't come in at all anymore. Most of the stations are fine but there is definetly a difference in my 2 favorite stations. What could be going on and is it the FM mods fault? Is there anything i can do to fix it?

my fm mod. is from audiovox. it plugs right into the back of my HU and sounds really good. when the fm mod is not powered up, the radio signal just travels through it. come to think of it, my favorite stations are a little less receptive now it seems. maybe the signal going through the modulator degrades it a little. did you figure anything out? i would say call circuit city and ask them

The FM mod I got with the Delphi SkyFi doesn't have an on/off switch that I know of. I have noticed a lack of FM radio reception on the few times I've wanted to listen to the local radio.

You need to install a switch in the power line to your FM mod. That way you can turn it off when you want to listen to the radio. This a common "mod" for those FM mods that don't have an on/off switch.
