Question Subwoofer wiring question

I have a Rockford Fostage 'P312D4' i.e. 12" dual voice coil 500 watt RMS 4 ohms. And i have a Planet Audio RX5.600 which supplies 300 watt RMS to the sub channel at 2 ohms. my question is how should i wire it so that i get the most boom out of it. Any help will be much appreciated thanks.

If you have two 4 ohm voice coils, just connect both +'s to the single + on the amp's sub output, then connect both -'s to the single - on the amp's sub output.

(each voice coil should have its own + and -, so on the sub you should have two different +'s and two different -'s)

Then you will have both coils connected and the amp will have its 2 ohm load.

^^ correct. both +'s connected together on sub then to amp and both -'s connected on sub then to amp = 2ohm

Do people not do their own research prior to spending money?

Hope this doesn't count for thread jacking. I was debating getting a fosgate P3D210 400wrms/800wmax and hooking it up to my elemental designs nine.2x which puts out 600wrms @ 4 ohm. A friend of mine told me that I didn't have enough power for the P3s take A LOT more power than there rated. piyushh, does your P3 sound good or does it sound like it is lacking power?

So you never spent money on them and you already knew how to wire multiple voice coils, correct?

Sealed/ported? What size? Everyone is telling me I should go ported or get a bigger sealed at least. I think the output would be more than enough considering this is my first system and the Z is a fairly small car.

I built a sealed box, around 1.6 cu ft. the manual for the sub asks for .75 cu ft. i will see how it sounds if i don't like it i can always make it smaller. i personally think sealed enclosures sound better.
