Best Way to Remove Navigation Control Panel
Anyone have a better way than using a screwdriver wrapped in tape to remove the nav control panel from the dash of a 2008 model? I'm looking for something that won't leave a mark as the plastic is fairly soft in that area. I was even thinking some sort of narrow putty knife.
Also, if there is another way to get to the back of the radio on a 2008 /w nav I would appreciate it. My understanding is that there are screws behind the panel that are required for removing the whole dash panel, which gives access behind the radio.

Just use something flat and thin. That finisher piece costs about $70!! Removing this will expose two screws.
After this you will need to follow the directions in the thread below to remove the next six screws and to disconnect the triple gauges. It is for a 03-05 dash but it doesnt matter. It is the same process, just different looking panels. (scroll down to the 7th image)

Hope this helps.
