Quick sub/amp wiring question for the experts
I am making some audio changes and will be using the two following items for the low end:
(1) Eclipse aluminum 12" (SW8122DVC)
- dual 4 ohm coils
- 500w RMS, 1000w peak power rating
(1) Crossfire CFA602 amplifier
- 150x2 @ 4 ohm
- 300x2 @ 2 ohm
- 600x1 @ 4 ohm mono
Which is the ideal way to hook this up, and what would the resulting power be?
If I had to guess, I would say connect the + of one voice coil to the - of the other, bridge the amp, and run the 2 wires accordingly to the remaining posts on each coil?

The 2 pieces of equipment are not going to play nice together. That sub can only be bridged to either a 2-ohm or 8-ohm load mono. Your 2-channel amp is only stable to 4-ohms mono. The only safe way to run it would be to wire the sub to 8-ohms, which will yield 300 watts rms to your sub.

or, last option, get a true mono amp. that wouldn't have any prob. running at a 2 ohm mono load. you can get some pretty good kicker zx series amps for dirt cheap that would run that sub just fine.
