Beltronic GX65 falling off windshield mount
Just bought a Beltronics GX65 radar detector a few weeks ago and I'm having issues with it regularly falling from the windshield mount going over minor road bumps (i.e. not potholes or anything extreme). I have a Nismo, so a little stiffer suspension than many. I can rather easily separate the mount from the detector by moderately pulling them away from each other. My guess is the release button spring on the detector unit isn't strong enough, but not sure if this is a common problem with Bel units.
I've covered the basics, the release button is up and catches, just not very well. No damage or modifications to either the detector. I'm mounting horizontal and vertical center of the windshield. Nothing strange or out of the ordinary in this case.
I am wondering if any others are having the same issue with their Beltronics detectors (doesn't have to be the GX65)?
Overall, liking the GPS functionality. I'm amazed at the amount of revenue collection devices I didn't even know existed! Great performance so far, but just a handful of radar traps detected. No Laser encounters yet.
