Default ICE ing on the cake

I just got my new sound system installed in my car.
Here are the components:

Alpine CDA9815 with custom fiberglass mount
Focal 6.5" Components for the front
Focal 5.25" Coaxials in the back
JL 300/4 Amp
JL 250/1 Amp
JL 8w3v2 8" sub mounted where stock bose sub is.

This setup is amazing. The sound quality from these Focal's is the most responsive and clear that I've ever heard. While The JL sub is fairly small, it does provide significant kick and ultra low end sound. Great for the small cabin of the Z. The HU has so many customizable features I havent even touched yet. Milisecond delays for sound centering and file searching mp3 cds while they are still playing are just some of the features I have tweaked. I couldn't be happier with this setup. The stock setup was fine for me for a while, but after the novelty of it all wore off, I needed more from a stereo. And more is what I got!

Pictures soon to follow.

I agree, I have the 6.5 focals in back, and getting the Utopia ($899.00) componet sets for the fronts.

Focals are truly amazing

The Focals are mounted very nicely. It looks completely stock, but once the volume goes up you can tell the difference. What do you guys think?

Looks good man! I tried to build a ported box for my 8" kicker to fit in that space, but it wasn't big enough and didn't sound good. I couldn't make it any bigger or else it wouldn't go through the opening. What are the dimensions on your box?

I'm now working on another idea for an enclosure I'll post pics soon. Very nice job on your install...I like the fiberglass mount for the HU!!

No offense, but are you guys on crack paying $850 a pair for speakers??? I mean, how good can they possibly sound??? I have $150/pr. jbl and polk (in my 300ZX TT) and am more than satisfied with the crispness and ability to handle moderate bass tones. What is so special about the focals??? Someone please enlighten me. I wish I had that much money to throw away on speakers...sheesh.

Focal/JMlab is one of the best speakers in the world. Thier home stuff is awesome, you can spend over $100k on thier home speakers.

Thier car stuff is great as well, Dynaudio and Focal are companies that are intersted in SOUND QUALITY, not SPLs, like so many car audio freaks are. That is one of the reasons I looked at thier stuff to begin with.

What was the model number of the Focals you went with?

I'm trying to decide between Focal and Diamond Audio right now.

I got the Focal 165 v2(300), and the 165CA.(250)

300 + 250 = 550

I dont know that many people that would shell out 850 for a pair of speakers either. They better be nanofabric for that price.
