Suggestions on eliminating rattling on stock sub cover
So I completed a steatlth sub install in the stock location. Its a 10" sub and I had to make some custom brackets to make it fit in the OEM location. Also used dynamat in the compartment and bracket areas. I'll post pictures here soon.
Sound quality is great. Some threads recommend custom enclosures/boxes to be used in that stock compartment, but I think the OEM location sounds just as good. Hits hard and clear, and I didn't even fill the compartment with poly (only dynamat).
The only problem is the sub cover/lid. It rattles like a **** and I have to keep it open. I think cutting a hole in it and attaching a grill would solve the problem. But wondering how folks did it here. The panel locks in there loosely, so I'm also considering screwing it down. Just need a steatlhy way to do that...
Any suggestions?

I'm on the process of putting a sub in the stock compartment as well. I was concerned about the pounding to the back but to my suprise, you can barely feel it. I took my 12' eclipse titanium in a ported box, moved the seat all the way forward and squeeze myself in. I sat there with my friend holding the sub and it was hitting hard but I barely felt it on the back.
