Help with Stock Head Unit Install!!!!
Ok guys heres my problem. I have a 04 touring Z that came with a Bose sound system. Well i took out the stock head unit and put a Pioneer Avic F900bt and loved every minute of it, until someone busted my window out an stole it . So here is the problem, i sold my stock bose HU so i had to buy another. Well i just bought a 05 HU that is not a bose. I installed it and everything seems to work fine but i cant get any sound. I put in a CD and it plays according to the track timer but i cant hear anything. I have everything plug up in the back of it. I checked all the fuses but i figured if it was a fuse the radio wouldnt play at all but i may be wrong. but i didnt see any blown fuses. Anyone know what im missing????
Simple. Your non-Bose Clarion deck has a built in amplifier which will not work as a pre-input to your Bose amplifier.
Solution? Get a Bose head unit and get rid of the Clarion piece OR get a new deck and use a Bose module or turn your high level outputs into RCA's and use the blue 'turn-on' wire to turn on the Bose amp. If this is all Greek to you then you should really see a car audio specialist.
