Talking need help on speakers + my new system.. diy corner enclosure w/ JL w6v2

ok so im in the process of building up my audio system..
-1st i hooked up my alpine iDA-X305 headunit.. the IPOD one
-then i started the mold of my trunk corner not knowing what sub i was getting yet
-and i ran into a JL w6v2 d4 on the forums thanks to GET_ZWOLE
-so i finished the box after about 6 hours of work.. this is my 3rd fiberglass box fyi
-and thanks to GET_ZWOLE again.. i got a JL 500/1 amp to power my w6

here are some pics: ill post some of the amp/ amp rack when i recieve the amp in the mail

first off.. the car this is in

notice the TEIN EDFC ??

ive heard on this forum that in our car the BOSE blows.. well i have the non-Bose so mine must ever be even worse.. haha

and so here is where i need some advice.. what are the best sq component speakers that i should get just to run off of my headunit? i dont feel like messing with hooking up an amp to all 4 speakers i have no experience in that..

trust me hooking up the components up to an amp makes a world of difference plus a hu doesnt produce enough power to push them and make sure you deaden both doors also big difference too. the best bang for the buck are the phoenix gold rsd's there around $70 check caraudio.com theyre reviewed to death and well promoted..

oh yeah when you finally do hook up your front stage speakers to an amp dont bother with the ones behind the seats. That position sucks dont waste the $ upgrading those speakers either

Holy crap, how old are you? You look scrawnier than I used to.

Chances are the BOSE sucks worse than the stock clarion.

You don't want to look for a component system to run off your headunit. The headunit does not supply enough power, and if you find a component set that is weak, you'll be stuck with that weak pair. Pick up a nice 4-channel amp and some Focal components. Components run off a headunit do not sound as good as they should.

I went the MB Quart route for my front components, rear midbass, and 10" sub.

haha you'll never know

yea thats what i kinda figured.. isn't it a pita to run the speaker wires through the doors? i guess i could double stack another amp onto my amp rack in my glove box.. so realistically its not worth getting new speakers unless i get an amp to run them off of??

So I take it you're 18 or younger.

Don't double-stack amps. I have my 4-channel in my passenger rear storage compartment and my mono in the stock BOSE space. Personally, I don't believe in buying new components without amping them properly. The passenger storage compartment doesn't have any airflow really, so having two amps in there wouldn't be good.

Running the wires is a PITA, but it's not THAT bad.

Running wires really isn't bad at all. check some of the build threads to get a look at what some others did. If u need help ask. Alot of audiophiles lurking in this section.

If it helps at all... using a wire hanger cut into sections really helps with the front wiring. Only took me about 20-30 minutes to do both sides.

ok true true, now i need to start looking into some amps. Once my mono amp gets here and i hook it up to the sub.. i'll decide if i need to hear the words better haha, i have a feeling that the w6 is going to really overpower the stock speakers

I would second the vote for the rsd's they are fantastic for the money and sound great in my z. As mentioned before you MUST get an amp for them as well though.
