Default Wiring Wizards please chime in... (Remote start on MT related)

This is in regard to a car alarm/remote start install on a MT. So if you possess knowledge in this wiring complexity please chime in. Now, everything seems fine so far (Autopage alarm works, arm/disarm doors, trunk and remote start) and the car WILL NOT remote start itself if it is in any gear. Now, the problem arises when I start driving and I notice clicking sounds everytime I shift. Now I called my installer and he said it's due to the relay he installed to fix the neutral safety wire... Does that sound right? And he said something about a "soft relay"? And how does he correct this what seems to be a minor problem?

And here's a link to 12volts forum for more in-depth situation of my Z.

I do not believe to correct word is "fix" as he stated, it should be more like rigged. He basically rigged some sort of relay to make the remote start work on a manual vehicle.

I see this stated by KPierson over on the12volt link you provided:

"If you need to change the polarity and want to use a relay, at least use a reed relay - you don't want the relay to click every time the car is shifted in to N (which is why I recomended using a transistor)."

This is what should have been done in order to stop the clicking. The clicking is because everytime you shift you have to go into Neutral for a moment (so the relay clicks on) then you go into gear (the relay clicks off). This is exactly how it is supposed to work/be wired, but if you changed the relay to what KPierson is suggesting, you won't hear the click.

This is the "correct" way to install a remote start on the 6mt vehicle. The Z does have a built in neutral safety switch that can be used to safely install a remote start on a manual Z.

As I stated in my other post, IF the polarity needs changed which I think you need to verify, you will need a relay (or some other device to change polarity). I would use a transistor and a couple resistors to make a totally silent converter, but thats just me!
