Subwoofer help!
Ok so i'd like to rip out my bose subwoofer and bose subwoofer amp, replace the bose amp with a JBL monoblock amp and replace the subwoofer all together a box in the back. Soooo essentially i'm only using the bose signal wires to run to the JBL amp and my sub would be in a box under my strut. Question is...i haven't' ripped out my bose woofer or anything yet so i'm wondering if everything will mate up ok or if this setup is possible?? I know the best way would be to rip out everything that is bose but I really don't feel like spending all that money or invest5ing the time. Advice please! Thanks guys.
I think you could leave everything physically in place but I'm not sure about running connections from the head unit to your JBL amp. I dont think it will work. Check the audio / video section.
you dont have to take everything out. In fact, you can leave the sub in there. I got the Bose system in my Grand Touring and got sick of it after a year. My plan for the next few weeks is to replace (4) speakers, 2 in the door and 2 behind driver head rest. Installed a 10" sub in the rear and wire all that to a 5 channels Amp.
You can bypass the factory Bose ONLY if your new headunit has 6 channels Preamp Output (mine is Pioneer F900bt) and if you doing something similar to me (replacing the speakers as well).
Good luck. It should be a fun project!
