Default The more I think about it...

the more pissed I get. Why the f*ck didn't Nissan just make the NAV system a DVD player as well? Look at how many people are replacing it and not getting it at all so they can put a comp or dvd screen in that slot? It's really quite asinine.

Simple - money. How else could you explain the unbelievably poor performance of the stock radio. A $30 portable cd has better fidelity.

Actually, they didn't make it that way because it is illegal to have a "visual entertainment media", such as tv or movies in the front compartment where the driver can view it. I am sure they would have loved to have been able to have that option to sell to us. Even the big SUV's and vehicles with back seats have the screens for the dvd players either behind the headrests or some other spot where only the rear seat passengers can see it.

There are ways around it however.......check out Nav-TV.com or AVElectronics.com
