Default Alternative GPS Mounting Location

Just thought I would share with everyone where I have chosen to mount my GPS. I used the suction cup attachment module and placed it suction cup down in the side cup holder on the drivers door and stuffed a black linen napkin all around it to keep it locked in place. Its real secure in there and does not move around.. I ran the charge cord from the rear power supply behind the seat and up to the unit. I was worried about not being able to see it and yes you do have to look down and take your eyes off the road for a second, but it has not been a real issue for me. I mostly listen to the directions for the most part anyways. If the criminals see either the suction cup module OR EVEN THE SUCTION CUP MARK LEFT IN THE WINDOW, they will know that you most likely have a GPS unit somewhere in the car and bust a window to look for it. Big issue here in Charlotte! Cheers!

Karma? Lol

Your going to have to grow some thicker skin if you plan on interacting on here or anywhere else on the internet.

I'm not a fan of where you have it placed but it isn't my car so to each his own.

^^I guess your right, just seems that there could be a little more civility. I have never been on one of these forums before and was not expecting people to be so rude. Seems pretty cut throat here. Thats one thing if you don't like my idea, but wow. I guess its easy to rag on other people when you don't have to worry about getting a fist in your mouth.

Advice taken and thicker skin grown...

^^Thanks for your non sarcastic response^^

Honestly all GPS type related products are unsafe for the road no matter where you mount it, ie the windshield / cubby hole / hell even the OEM Nissan Navigation screen is unsafe. Anytime you require to take your focus off the road is very unsafe, I honestly doubt anyone here can use their peripheral vision to see their GPS, most of us do just use the audio feature for the heck of it so I think ShredZ no matter where you put your GPS that's your own business and it's good that your sharing ideas but I don't think people should flame you for it. I don't mind where you put it. Just to others who thinks their "mount" is more safe, it isn't because GPS takes your focus OFF the road even if it's on your front windshield. that's pretty much like "oh let me talk on my cell phone while driving" because mentally your distracted while talking and thinking. Anyways it's just my 2 cents and I think shredZ keep doing whacha do and whatever works for ya don't be discouraged about this forum because people flame ya, there are some GREAT GREAT info's on this forum.

Thanks Jake, I am relieved to see that there are some real people on this forum who can have a sensible conversation with someone else.

First off, who says I am a "dude"? dude... I can take a joke just like anyone else but when your not face to face with someone, body language cannot be read. Therefore I have to believe that you are serious unless you state otherwise. What happened to telling people how you feel in a non negative way. Don't joke around with people who you do not know or whom are not on your "friend" list. If you were only joking, then my apologies...
