Default Replacing the HU and speakers, what about the sub?

I'm replacing the stock Bose HU with a Kenwood DDX7017 I have lying around. I also have Infinity Perfect 6.1's that I wanna put in the doors. What I'm wondering is how does the Bose sub work? Does it run off a separate channel from the stock hu? will it work with an aftermarket HU? Is there ANY way to replace it? I searched but I cant find specific answers.

the sub will work but will sound like ****.... better off getting an small 10" sub, a mono amp to power it and run it off your preamp output from the Kenwood.

The signal for the woofer is from the woofer amplifier. The speaker amplifier provides a signal to the woofer amplifier.
