Default Better alternator/capacitor or what?

Do I need anything along the lines of a capacitor or high speed alternator or 2nd battery for my system? I'm getting ready to install it and wasn't sure.
The setup I'm installing:
Kenwood ddx512
Alpine spx17ref with Pheonix gold ryval v752
eD 11kv.2 sub with Nine.2 amp
Planning on using a 4 gauge amp kit and using a splitter to run it to both amps if that's relevant

The big 3 won't hurt, but otherwise the stock alternator should be able to keep up with that equipment. Might want to look into a gel cell battery (Exide Orbital, Optima yellow top, etc.)

Get one of these:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120PP10...M.html?tp=2614

Doesn't have to be from crutchfield, they go pretty cheap on ebay. Got mine for $60 shipped.

I don't have dimming problems or anything like that, could run all my accessories and system and high beams at the same time with no problems, but when I added it to my system, it did sound better, i could go to 25 on the volume and sound the same as it was at 30.

My system:
ddx-812
Infinity comps in the front
blaupunkt amp running at 100watts rms x2
ID10 single sub
alpine digital mono amp at 550watts rms

I plan on doing the big 3 eventually, weekend project sometime, just need to get parts.

I had initially planned on using a capacitor but all the comments about them being worthless have made me question that decision. I guess I should hook everything up and see how it sounds and if I have any problems, like dimming or sound quality at high volumes and go from there . After reading about the big 3, I definitely plan on making it a project when I'm free this Christmas

Pheonix gold ryval v752 = 75x2 @ 4ohms
Nine.2 = 400x1 @ 4ohms

Total of 550 rms watts if the gains are set properly and the volume is cranked. At everyday listening levels and where the gains are 'probably' set, you are probably pushing no more than 250 watts at any given time, most likely even less. This wattage will be putting a draw on the electrical system of ROUGHLY 20 amperes. There is enough overhead in the stock electrical system to handle that.

You don't need a cap for the power you are running. Take the money you would have spent on a cap and get a gel cell battery as I suggested. If you want to know why I suggest this I will explain it to you.

And as you are already planning, do the big 3.

Thanks Street. Appreciate you being on top of all my audio questions. I'll research that battery this afternoon and get back to you if I'm confused. Are you talking about getting it as a second battery or replacing my existing one?

I was talking about replacing the existing battery. It is not needed for what your plans are, but if you need to soon replace your battery anyway, I would look into a gel cell as opposed to a traditional lead plate/acid battery. It will provide benefits that will help your audio equipment perform at its best.

Thanks street. It's actually about time to replace it so that works out well
