Exclamation Need Help!!!! Installing Basslink, Not Working!!

I just finished installing my basslink to my car. I have an Alpine 9813 deck with RCA outs for the sub. The sub setting is set to on on the deck.

The fuses are not blown.

The basslink does not turn on when I turn the deck on!!

What could be wrong?

It's grounded. Everything is connected properly.

One thing I stupidly did was I put the fuse for the battery lead to the basslink more than 18" from the positive batter post , but that shouldn't matter.

I don't have a voltometer or whatever it's called to check the remote on lead and everything else.

I used the blue and white wire off the deck which is the remote on lead.

No idea!!!

Can anybody offer any assistance?

Anybody that put in their basslink?

Either the basslink isn't getting power from the battery, the ground isn't sufficient, or the turn-on lead isn't connected or making power.

Did you switch to "auto turn on" yet?

Whew.........

It works now. Bastard was right!!

My power connection from the battery was not a good connection at my in-line fuse.

I knew I did everything right, but I was going CRAZY!! And I was going to do this on Saturday, but since I have no self control, I did it tonight and now it's midnight!!!!

but....IT SOUNDS AWESOME!!!!!

I'm loving it!

Highly recommend it as an inexpensive solution for bass. For now my system is good.

Alpine 9813 HU
Infinity Kappas 2-way all the way around
Infinity Basslink

One final question:

--> I put my inline fuse way too far away from the positive battery terminal and the instructions say it should be no more than 18", what is the reason for this?? Do I need to fix mine ASAP, or can I leave it like that?

Thanks Bastard!!!

When you place the fuse far from the battery, there will be more resistance and inductance between the fuse and the battery. This may cause the fuse not blown when it is supposed to.

Did you put it in the back or behind the driver's seat?

I put it in the back corner on the passenger side of the car.

Sounds very good. It fills the void I was missing B-E-A-utifully!

Vash,

Show us pics - is it in the "subwoofer area" or in the back hatch area?

I did the sub area as there isn't enough space in the car as it is..

No digital camera yet!...

Zaph32, how did you mount it in the stock sub area? I want to put mine there too, but I hear that the bass will not be as deep, but it will still sound OK. I have no Idea how to secure it though.

Two screws into the top - the bottom just 'rests.'

I did put some foam tape around the rear end so that it won't rattle against the metal.
