Default What is the cheapest way to hook up Ipod

What is the cheapest way to hook up Ipod with stock stereo ( non bose ) ?

I went to the stereo shop and they quote me for $100. So I just wonder what is there anyway cheaper than that?

PS. No crappy FM tuner please.

Thank you

If you don't want a RF Modulator, then you're going to have to pay the freight. I don't know of a real cheap way to get a direct iPod connection without an electronic box like a USA Spec or PAI unit.

Almost all new head units have IPOD connections and quite a few are less than $100 since that is the direction you are going in.

Just dont waste your money on any iTrip RF modulator crap products. I threw mine out the window on the interstate. Its nothing but static.

I got pretty decent use out of my cassete iPod adapter until I got my headunit. Cost me $1.37 at Walgreens and there was no static. The quality was pretty decent, too.

Because you have an 06+ Z w/ steering wheel controls, you'll want this. ~$120 on eBay. Charges iPod, lets you keep steering wheel controls to flip through songs on the ipod and also gives you an extra input in case you have a different media source. If it were not for the steering wheel controls, I would have recommended an AUX/RCA only input which is around ~$65, which doesn't charge ipod, and you would manually control the songs.
