Default DDX 712 install, two questions

I have the bose system in my Z.

After installing the kenwood DDX712 headunit I've noticed two things.

1. The equalizer won't stay set. IE, if I change the xover to increase bass output, it changes but only for about 5 seconds and then it changes back to the "default" level no matter what the xover is set at. Is this just the nature of the beast because I'm still utilizing the factory amp?

2. It seems like the "auto volume" feature that was on my bose headunit is still functioning after installing the Kenwood. IE, if I turn the volume down low, it will come back up just a little bit in about 10 seconds and if I have the volume up and come to a stop light, the volume will decrease a little bit...HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE WITHOUT THE BOSE HEADUNIT IN THE CAR?

Did you double check all the wires and make sure they are all connected correctly?

It must be the Bose amps causing the problem. Since Bose does not publish specifications (or much of anything for that matter), it’s difficult to analyze a problem.

I think you are faced with replacing the Bose amps and the Bose speakers to get this working properly. It’s very difficult to integrate a new H/U with an existing Bose amp/speaker system.
