Adding sub to Non bose, where to hook Remote Wire
Im planning on adding a JL W3v2 10' sub to my non bose system. Im going to power it with a Alpine MRD-M300 which will also require a Rear Speaker tap, i don't plan on upgrading anything else because this is a lease. My question is where to I hook up the Remote on/off on the amp? Ive read that I can use the rear Cig ligher power line, or the power to the HU. Obviously the Power HU is the way to go so that the amp comes on and off with the HU, but im un clear as to which wire is the power wire to the HU, and the one i should tap.
Ive never done a Speaker tap before so im sorta doing this trial by fire. Any help or words of incouragement would be great
*edit* Im also weighing the option of doing Speaker level inputs to the amp, or running them through an RCA converter, which would you guys recommend. Like i said im new at this

DEI Remote power Adapter (55000A)
55000A
Remote Power Adapter
Provides an amplifier switching solution with OEM radios having low-voltage or current limited outputs. For high powered OEM radios lacking Remote output, the switching signal can be directly captured from any speaker wire. The adapter incorporates a 2-3 second delay triggering the output in all applications. Two or more adapters can be used to create a component turn-on sequence when the system includes signal processors. Also, the 1 amp output rating means each adapter can switch on several amplifiers. With an extremely low output current requirement and no induced transients, the Remote Power Adapter is much better than an electro magnetical relay for switching on amplifiers.
