and then with the case modified and screwed back together, notice the flat wire coming out of the bottom is where the button board plugs in..and the usb connecter that sticks out so far on the right

Dude!
You don't have to connect the usb connect to the monitor unless you have a usb device, like a joystick, keyboard or mouse coming from the monitor.
The usb from the output to the computer is the only usb connection that you need.
Its just a bypass to another usb device. The touch screen will work with out it.

No, that USB connector is for the video and audio in, So I needed it to connect it to the video out from my HU. The VGA and touchscreen USB outs come out of the back, I wish they all did

hey ECKZLNT,
Post sum pics of the install!!
What is the NTSC/PAL adapter plug which is usb? What is that used for? I thought the Lilliputs have those three wires(yellow red white) for sound and audio. PLease elaborate. A pic of this may help. Im still a newb when it comes the new VGA screens.
Also, did this screen replace the stock navi? or is this replacing the storage compartment?
ARe you just extending the stock IR receiver which comes with the Screen? OR are you putting on an aftermarket IR receiver which connects to your serial port?
AS for you PSU, what kind are you using? Maybe someone here can help u. post ur computer specs as well.
murrman100:
Try using a zip tie going lengthwise over the cable plug. That should keep the cable in its place. Im not sure how u set ur box up but it sounds like the harddrive isnt secured down. If its not the bumps in the road may be making the disk and reader head to skip. Therefore crashing your comp. The insdustrial velcro u can get from Home Depot may help with that.

Yes, it does have the yellow/red/white cables, but they connect to the screen with a USB plug. The screen comes with a remote, but the sensor is right below the screen where the buttons normally are. So in order for the sensor to see the remote, I had to make it visible. I don't have the stock navigation, I put it where the stock screen would go. I will take/post pics tonight when I get home.

Yeah, I found them when I searched to see if any right angle adapters existed. I didn't want to wait anymore, and wanted my car back together. Who knew I would only be able to drive it for a day and a half before it rained/snowed. Now I just want it to rain already to wash this salt away

I'll post a close up shot when I get a chance to take a good one, possibly in daylight (damn work).

ECKZLNT: Sweet remote V1 install! I didnt even notice it the pic until you mentioned it. I know this is a little off topic but, i just wanted to know where you mounted your radar?
Something more on topic regarding the screen:
Now that you guys have your screen all set up and ready to go. Have you thought about making a custom interface program for the Z so you have easy access to DVD/ NAV/ MP3...or anything else you may have? Any programmers?
