Default JVC DVD player: Sound works with Radio Tuner, not with DVD/iPod??

Hi experts:

I'm running a JVC KW-AVX720 with aftermarket 4 channel Infinity amp to 2 component speakers + sub setup (all Infinity).

The radio tuner works fine, but the moment I change source to "DVD" and pop in a DVD, the sound turns off. I checked that:
-Volume is up all the way
-DVD is functional in another car, tried other DVD's as well
-Video playback is fine

Same thing with the iPod - connectionwise it seems fine, but for some reason the audio doesnt work. I can control it through the HU and such though.

Does the JVC unit switch speaker sources when you switch input sources (like from radio to DVD)? Because the audio is perfectly fine with the radio.. I'd imagine this would not be normal operation..

Thanks in advance!

Some more info:

I'm running my component speakers from the aftermarket amp that goes into "Line Out" on the back of the unit with banana plugs. On the OEM harness, I had the "speaker wires" clipped and taped. The only problem I'm thinking of is when the unit switches sources, it searches to output sound to those harness speaker wires I have taped, but that wouldn't make sense, seeing as how it knows to output sound to Line Out for the radio...

You do not have the amp turn on wire connected. You have the antenna wire hooked up to the amp. You need to use the amp turn on wire.

Can you be a little more specific please? What do I need to hook the amp turn on wire to?

Ok, so swap the blue and the blue/white wiring position. I will try that tonight. Thanks so much for the advice so far!
