Default Wicked CAS Fiberglass Box

I purchased a fiberglass under strut box for 3 10" subs from Wicked CAS, had it painted to match the car and now the JL Audio 10w6 subs wont fit. Has anyone else had this problem, any solutions.

I thought you could only fit 2 10" subs under the strut bar like mine. Maybe the cutouts are for a different brand of subs. Post up pics please.

Did you not test fit the subs before you had it painted?

no i did not test fit the subs, since they asked was it for a JL 10w6 when i ordered it and I purchased the 10w6 from them I figured they would test fit it. I already sanded all the paint from the mounting surfaces and still not even close to fitting.

Place your phone several inches away from your ear, hold down any number key, and listen for as long as you can stand it. How would you like to hear that sound 24/7/365 for the rest of your life?

That's what it's like to have tinnitus from over-exposure to loud noise. Some people experience it as the constant chirping of crickets. You can also kiss goodbye to hearing most song birds and lots of other pleasant sounds.

when you mean "not fit" is it the Dub6 magnet hitting? Or the woofer surround not fitting into the recessed hole?

LOL @ the tinnitus warning. Totally off topic, but I guess a valid concern.

Anyway, did you check mounting depth? Maybe the woofers are hitting each other in the back. It might be ghetto, but if thats the case, perhaps you can put the outer subs at JL's and the inside one a shorter-mounting JL.

Sucks you didnt test fit it man. Refund?

nope the subs are not hitting each other or the back of the box. they offered to redue the box but I have to buy a box from home depot (box is on the big side) pay to ship it back to them and then they said I will have to pay to have it repainted which means more cash. thinking about buying focal subs to match the rest of the set and sell the JLs

If you have one local, go by a Target, Best Buy or a body shop and ask if they have a box they are going to throw out. But it sounds like they are fuking you over pretty good. They sold it to you saying that it would fit the subs and now you have to pay money because they were wrong?

you could try to lightly dremel around until the mounting diameter for the sub will work if your comfortable with that.

I dont have the tools to do it correctly, I just dont want to ruin a $300 box and it be completely useless. Might just sell it and make it clear the w6 will not fit

you say they dont fit in, can you not get any of them to fit individually ?
if thiis the case from the photo you posted i would suspect the mid brace to be the culprit and cutting/sanding this down a little to clear the magnets wouldnt be that hard to do.

none of them fit individually either, all the gel coat is gone now and starting to sand the fiberglass, just wondering how much i can sand before it weakens the box

Just keep sanding until the fit. I have seen their boxes and they are plenty thick enough.
