Default 2006 Steering wheel controls on 2005 Bose

I spent the weekend re-newing my girlfriends 05 350z by refinishing the interior panels, came out really nice. Also installed an ipod controller that I got for $30.

I like the simplicity of the bose system, sure it's not audiophile grade but it sounds great to her. I'd like to add the 2006 steering wheel controls, and was wondering if the 05' Bose unit (manufactured in 04) had inputs for remote control? It's a stretch, I know... I've done searches and it looks like the harness on the back is the same as the 06 as far as the stereo goes.

I guess the only way to really test it would be to plug an 05' deck into an 06' car?

A big favor to ask would be for me to send my radio to someone willing to try this... I'd pick up all courier charges and throw in $20 for a case of beer maybe? Would be easy for someone that's taken the dash apart before, I can do it in the 05' with my eyes shut in 5 minutes.

Thanks

I fail to see how that response had any contribution to this thread.

Id like to know the outcome of this and yes I know its an older thread.. I have an 08 Nismo steering wheel in my 05 and I have a Bose stereo. The audio controls do not work but the cruise works fine. I think I need to upgrade to an 06+ Bose unit and I also think Ill need the wiring from an 06+. Anyone have information on this?
