As many are aware here, I have a JVC KW NT1. It's a great HU except for one thing: the screen door effect/pixelation is awful. Not so much when using navigation or during music playback, more so on movies. Maybe I've been spoiled with HDTV and Blu-ray, but it is very noticeable even to a non-videophile nonetheless.
I understand that there needs to be a "soft layer" built into the screen to make it touch capable (which yields more pixelation and a softer picture focus) and that it's probably not one of the highest resolution or most quality LCDs out there but still. Every time I watch a DVD, I can't help but notice the mosquito net screen door effect on the picture quality.
I have friends who have an Alpine and a Kenwood and their screens have the same effect. So I'm wondering, do you all's double DIN HUs exhibit the same effect?

The “screen door” effect happens mostly on LCD’s manufactured before a date (I think it’s like 2005 or 2006).
I have not noticed this problem with current Kenwood and Alpine LCD’s (or even inexpensive LCD screens, e.g., Power Acoustik and Farenheit). I don’t have experience with JVC screens.
