Default signal source question?

Hey guys Im adding an amp to the factory bose system in my 03 Z. Would there be anything wrong with tapping into the harness before the rear amp for my rca converter instead of the HU harness? I dont see a problem but maybe someone might have more info for me my thinking is i wouldn't have to tear the dash apart and it would be less of a distance for my rca cables. thanks for the help!

Welcome. You are tapping into this line for 12v DC power? A simple diagram might be helpful?

no no i already have the power cable ran from the battery to the back of the car i am wondering about the adapter for the actual sound signal if i can just splice into the harness before the rear amp or if i need to splice in behind the headunit?

It will work but ... replacing the cables that run back through the cabin with better ones can only help. I would suspect the quality of the stock cables.
