Default Rear speaker recommendation

Replaced my system about a year ago, currently have an Elemental Designs Nine.22 amp powering Hybrid Audio C51-2 components up front. I feel like my system is lacking without any rear speakers even tho it seems like most on here would argue against. Looking for some decent yet more affordable rear speakers that I can for now run off my DNX812 HU. I want something that will run well and not be crappy being run off my HU if possible.

Thanks for any helpful input.

Any speaker regardless of quality will performance will be sub par running off the HU. Do you have a sub stage or just front?

A lot of people will tell you to ditch the rear speakers. I have seen a couple of nice set ups that didn't use rears and they sounded great.

Get door pods or kick pods and call it a day. No sense in making your imaging worse when pods will make it sound better and louder.

I hate having no rear fill (no rear speakers atm), I've thought of getting door pods but from the couple times I have looked in the past they seem pretty darn expensive. Recommendation for door pods if I did go that route?

Personally I like kick pods more since you don't have to do any modifications to the door panel.

Nazar has the most popular door pods I believe. Bing does the kick pods. I have kick pods in my Z and love them... with 100ish watts going to each components, I have no need for rear fill.

I went with Focal full range speakers in ther rear. Focal components in the doors, no sub and have plenty of bass for my tastes. Not into boom boom....
Have the Kenwood DDX514 HU and Kenwood 8404 amp. Try the Focal, can be expensive depending on model, but you won't be disappointed.
