I don't disagree with what you are saying. That's why I said I would try to put something together for him within his budget. My comment was only for those posts mentioning that he should save more money in order to put anything worth while in. Not directed towards those actually trying to give fruitful advice.

I think he can get something decent within his budget, he just needs to eliminate clutter IMO.

Are you absolutely certain that you want 2 10" or 12" subs in the car? You may find that a single 10 in a proper box will give you everything that you are looking for.

@ Blck350z - no amp for the components? Not trying to be a d**k. I don't know anything about those components but judging by the price I would assume they need some additional juice then what the deck puts out.

^^ I am fairly new at the car audio ( and maybe I shouldn't be recommending anything) but from what I've heard (literally and not read on the internet) they sound beautiful run off of a clarion deck. I would believe they would do OK with the alpine.... but i agree that it can only benefit you by adding an amp for those.

Yeah, he could get two of these amps, one for components and one for a sub instead of paying that much for the JL 500/1.

It wasn't the Clarion that doesn't have a built in amp is it? Some HUs require that run your own amps.

Use that Pioneer headunit if it has all the features YOU want and need ($320)

Front stage:
CDT CL-61AT-25T Pro ($200)
http://www.woofersetc.com/p4691/CL61...5t-Tweeter.htm

Sub:
Image Dynamics IDQ v3 ($160)
Dual 2ohm wired in series to 4ohm load
http://www.woofersetc.com/p4993/ID10...-Subwoofer.htm

Enclosure:
Zenclosures single 10" ($130)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ZEnclosures-350Z...item45eb7e407f

Amp:
Kenwood Excelon X600F ($269)

Wiring kit:
Stinger SWKH4 ($80)
http://www.woofersetc.com/p5798/SWKH...Wiring-Kit.htm

RCA:
Stinger Pro SPI4312 ($24)
http://www.woofersetc.com/p6301/SPI4...erconnects.htm

Other:
1/2 Lb Acoustastuff ($5)

For a total of about $1188 you will have a system that will sounds super (if installed properly). As you can see this price includes wiring which most people forget about when budgeting.

NOTES:
You can always add rear speakers later IF you feel you are missing them and then just power them off the headunit.

One good quality 10" sub properly installed and tuned will give you better QUALITY sub bass than two sub-par subwoofers with inadequate air space.

^ lol. That's why I hardly ever give recommendations on what to buy. I'm the "save up until I can buy the good stuff that I REALLY want" type.

^ JBL MS-8 is next on my list, I'm going to grab one when it is released in June. I'll text you later about it.

Oh and OP in my opinion surround sound is only desired if you are watching a lot of movies in your car. I'd also side with those who say ditch the rear speakers all together and spend that money elsewhere.

Headunit- Pioneer AVH-P3200DVD- $320
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...-P3200DVD.aspx

Front Components- Alpine SPR-17S- $139
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...e_SPR-17S.aspx

Rear Speakers- Alpine SPR-17C- $89
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...e_SPR-17C.aspx

4-channel amp- Alpine PDX-4.100- $329
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._PDX-4100.aspx

Mono Amp- JL Audio G1700- $279
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...dio_G1700.aspx

(2) 12" Subs- JL Audio 12W0v2-4- $89 each
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._12W0v2-4.aspx

Custom Enclosure- $175
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Custo...#ht_3634wt_732

Future recommendation. I like stuff matching. Feel like it will sound better. Headunit be whatever, Front & rear speakers & 4-channel match, and subs & mono match.

$1,500 wow. Maybe should find some other stuff.

I know there has to be away to get all these same components within $1,000 and still sound good.

Brands i like our kicker, mtx, alpine, jl audio, rockford fosgate

I want the speakers to get loud, clear, but still have mids and be able to get lows. Subs i want them to do it all but especially deep lows.

Single 10" be impressive, (2) 10" any better? (2) 12's i a have always been a fan because they do what a 10" and 15" sub does.

As far as power i know if you have (4) 100 watt rms speakers @ 4 ohm you get a 4-channel amp that does 100x4 rms @ 4 ohms.

The sub amp get confused. If you have (2) 500 watt rms subs and a 500x1 watts rms mono amp will it just power the 2 subs 250 watts rms each or will it send 500 watts rms to each.

You should seriously considering taking advice rather than ignoring it.

+1, why bother posting if you really don't care to heed advice of those that KNOW better?

First, a couple days ago you said you wanted to add an Infinity Basslink because you wanted to keep the stock headunit and speakers, then you wanted to replace everything but keep it under/around $1k, then you ignore everyone trying to help you and you put together a system costing $1500 which is 50% more than your initial budget in this thread.

OP, end this thread now.....collect your thoughts and jot down concrete goals......set a budget and stick to it. THEN and only then should you proceed with looking for equipment.

I already showed you how to make this happen in post #28.

at the last question

How much audio experience DO you have

I only say this because i've spent the last 2 weeks searching the this forum and other audio forums because I finally want to put together a system thats better than my Iphone speaker..... Like anything else in life, you can learn something new each day...

when you finally do buy everything and install it, please let us know what you purchased and your opinions on it
