Default Braille Battery

I've searched and found Robert K's post on a 2015, but couldn't find anything else.

Are any of you guys running a Braille battery, such as a 2317 or a 3121?

I'm trying to see if these are just plug and play, and if our stock cables are long enough to reach.

Any help would be great.

Here's my post on the 3121:

I had to drill a hole in the tray to get the supplied bracket to hold it tight but the stock cables work fine. Seems to be holding up fine a year and a half later.

I actually bought a battery tie down from Autozone that was adjustable and it worked just fine.

Did you have to get shims for it? Are you running the 21lb too?

Yeah I'm running the 21lb battery. Only thing I bought was the tie down bracket and j-hooks just in case the stock ones didn't fit. Plus I accidentally lost one lol

Awesome, I haven't had any issues with mine and I've had it for over a year. Matter of fact, I asked 350Zenophile a few questions myself

Hell, I'm so surprised it survived the winter we had. It was constantly in the 20s and 30s, sometimes even colder and it still cranked. Struggled slightly, but it was pretty damn cold for Louisiana. Now that it's hot again, still running strong.

Really? That's awesome then because that was one of the things I was worried about in Colorado.

Did you grab the charger for it too? Or have you ever even needed it?

Nope, I don't have a charger for it. I do drive my Z every day and I honestly I'm not sure if it would survive those temperatures if it were to sit for a week or so without cranking. It's NEVER failed to crank on me though. *knock on wood*

what up blasian...glad to hear yours is running strong too. I think our issue living in the south is the heat. That kills batteries faster than the cold.

I skipped the charger...I go 4-5 days sometimes between drives too. Sometimes a little slow to crank after that tho so if that's you. may be a good investment.

Yeah I might need to do that. Mine has been sitting for nearly 1.5 - 2 years, main reason I need to replace my battery anyway.

Maybe I'm just being **** but you might want to try to get the bracket to fit into the notch on the lid of the battery. It feels much more secure that way, especially from lat g's. That's why I took out the tray and drilled another hole for the j hook.

UPDATE - My Braille B3121 died after 1 year, 11 months. Prorate on 2yr warranty is only good for $32 credit...less whatever it will cost to ship the old one back...so basically zilch.

I will be saving my money and going with a Duralast Gold this time. Costs less and has much better warranty (3yr replacement, 8 year prorate). Be damned extra weight!
