Default Dual Amps Question

Hi Guys,

I'm installing a jl audio 500/1 and a jl audio 300/2 amp in my roadster, I've been researching it and I had a question. I've installed one amp in my cars before but never two. Am I going to need to run a capacitor or will I be okay installing it without a capacitor? thanks in advance for the help guys I appreciate it.

I have a coupe but was able to fit 3 amps in mine, 2 jl audio 500/1 amps and a 1 jl audio450/4 amp powering 2 Rockford fosgate p3 subs. Sounds amazing and hits hard. I had an audio shop build me a custom alternator to handle all of the power of the system and the cars main electrical system so there was no need for a cap. If you have the dough, its best to have a custom alternator built for your car.

Why would you run 3 amps when you can do the same with 2. Your output in nooo way needs a H.O alt which I can bet puts out much less under load than a real h.o. I would never trust my electrical(alt) to an audio shop go to a reputable company. RF p1's,p2's and p3's suck your setup doesnt quite make sense

Op what does installing 2 amps have to do with a cap? You dont need a cap, further more your stock electrical is more than enough for your setup

^By no means they have to make a living also bills have to be paid. But a lot of consumers go into stores uneducated and depend on the the professional to steer them in the right direction. Some of the crap I see audio shops promote or suggest boggles my mind. Capacitors, overkill or inadequate electrical systems and the list goes on and on

Capacitors do serve a purpose and can be useful in some applications - it really depends on the particulars of not only the components, but the conditions under which it is being used
