Default Alternator Install/Upgrade

I got my new stereo installed, now my alternator is going/went out. I got it tested today and that is the issue of it not wanting to start randomly throughout the day and sometimes not at all.

Anyway I've priced the part as I don't think upgrading will really be necessary, but is the installation very difficult? I have been searching for an hour for a DIY on alternator OEM install or upgrade here on the forums and can't seem to find anything on it...

Sorry to blow up the audio forum guys... trying to help out as many people as possible as well... Figured some of you have probably done an alt. upgrade or at least know where to point me.

Thanks again

Hey Duro

I was more interested in a DIY to install the alternator myself. After doing some research(not many DIY's on this online if any anyway) I decided to call up my buddy at the shop who's going to do the labor for about $75 bucks... so what the heck.

The hardest part is getting that long *** bolt out so that the alternator will drop. I forgot how I accomplished it. I don't remember if I had to move the radiator slightly or what not.

When it comes to difficult installs its def worth paying to get someone else to do it especially if its not that much coin. You really dont need a write up once the car is jacked up its easily accessible and any half a** mechanic could figure it out

Word. I replaced the alt. on my old car in like 20 minutes, but you could get to it from the top. For the money I just brought it in... anything that requires me to use my jack that's that cheap just doesn't make sense.

do you have one? is it the same size as stock? I assume it mounts up just fine with one of the universal holes?
