Default another bose cd player issue/replacement options?

So I've been having some problems with my factory bose 6-disk player. When on AM/FM, everything works fine but when I'm playing a cd, if I hit a pebble on the road, speakers cut out or it stops playing till I smack it or something...I want to replace the bose cd player with something aftermarket but I was wondering if I would be able to keep using the bose sub...anyone know if it'll work?

That adapter kit has been reccomended before for the same thing. It sounds as though it will work, but it's only listed for up to 2002 Nissans.

In all honesty, don't waste money, I'm getting ready to do a full stereo build and I just can't reason saving 2-400 bucks now to end up tearing the car apart to add in another set of speakers or a sub down the road. Do it right, do it once, and never look back.

If at all possible replace the Bose subwoofer, even if you go on the cheap with a subwoofer/amplifier in a box (like Infinity) it will sound better. And to tell you the truth, if you're going to try to get a good sound toss the Bose amplifiers and speakers too.

Paul, If there is a case that clearly proves “a picture is worth a thousand words,” it’s your picture-comparison of the Z’s OEM Bose components vs. aftermarket components.

Notice than no one ever debates this point on a thread where you post those great comparison photos.

I understand. I also need all of the available cargo space in the Z and cannot sacrifice carrying capacity in the rear.

The OEM Bose SubW is proprietary and works best with the OEM Bose H/U. If you upgrade to a better H/U, you will probably be disappointed if you keep the OEM Bose SubW and its tiny amp.

If you need to preserve cargo space, there are at least two reasonable SubW solutions using the large cubby behind the driver’s seat or the Z’s large glove box behind the passenger seat. This position is not a good as using the space under the strut bar, the rear spare wheel compartment, or the back corner(s) in the coupe; but it’s adequate and provides decent sound.
